Solar Energy Advantages Disadvantages

There are Solar Energy Advantages Disadvantages that we should learn to understand so that we came make efficient use of it. This is particularly true if you are a do-it-yourself type of individual. Knowing what those differences are will make the significance of a renewable energy system even more important to the home owner.

The word Solar comes from the Latin which means Sun. The sun is by far the single most powerful source of energy that man knows. Our very existence is because of our sun which is at a distance of about 93 million miles. This huge source of power comes to earth traveling through the space can be trapped and used for a wide range of uses.

Research in the sun has lead us to understand that the power provided by it can be an economical, effective and a powerful source of energy replacing fossil fuels. If man can trap and transmit this power using cost effective methods, it will be a practically unending source of energy that can reduce our dependency on all other conventional fuel sources. It will save our planet from the harmful byproducts that pollute our environment.

If we analyze the Solar Energy Advantages Disadvantages, the advantages will be much more than the disadvantages. Our planet is going through a critical phase in its life; environmental changes in part due to the increasing dependency on fossil fuels are making changes in the whole weather pattern. On the other hand the sun's energy which is a source of clean and renewable energy can last for billions of years and practically outlive the effective life of this planet solving any of our needs.

While discussing these advantages and disadvantages, one disadvantage is an apparent deterrent for most people willing to switch to it; the initial cost. The initial costs of building a power generating system fueled by the sun at home can be more expensive than setting up a regular electrical infrastructure. However, these systems costs are becoming more economical because of improvements in photovoltaic generation equipment; thus lowering their cost.

A discussion about the solar energy advantages disadvantages cannot end without discussing the impacts on the grass root segment of the users. The sun's energy is a completely self sufficient way of obtaining the energy that a particular home, a section of a town, or even a complete commercial building can use. Since many times these buildings do not have grid tie systems, they have the ability tap into the sun’s energy and store if for use later on when the sun is not shining. Also, the generation of electricity through the sun’s energy does not produce sound or causes air pollution.
